Manager Risk & Compliance

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

JOB PURPOSE

Coordinates the Risk Management function of the Bank in line with the Risk Management procedures and policy

MAJOR DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Establish and review corporate wide risk management framework in line with the best practice.
? Develop and review procedures for reporting major risks facing the Bank in line with the Banks Risk Management procedures
? Regularly visit business units of the Bank and meet with senior executives to promote imbedding risk management into the culture and daily activities of the Bank in line with the best practice. Maintain a cost benefit focus on Enterprise Risk Management in the Bank.
? Communicate and manage the establishment and ongoing maintenance of Enterprise Risk Management pursuant to the Bank?s risk Management strategy.
? Communicate with the Risk Committee of the Board regarding the status of Enterprise Risk Management in the Bank in line with Board?s Risk Committee?s mandate.
? Develop and maintain a risk management capability in all Business units of the Bank in line with the Bank?s Risk management policy.
? Validate that Enterprise Risk Management is functioning in each business unit of the Bank and that all significant risks are being recognized and effectively managed in a timely manner
? Work with the Bank?s business unit heads to ensure business plans and budgets include risk identification and management.
? Work with the various business units of the Bank to identify and review the Bank?s Risk profile and strategy in line with the Risk Management Framework of the Bank.
? Develop and Implement department departmental work plan & budgets for Risk department in line with the strategic plan & Budget policy of the Bank.
? Assess and report on the state of the economy on a periodic basis
? Perform any other functions as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualification and experience:
? An Honors Degree in any business field
? A professional qualification such as ACCA/CPA CIMA would be desirable.
? Relevant post graduate qualification in Risk Management
? Minimum of 7 years cognate experience.

Loan Monitoring & Recoveries Officer (2)

REPORTS TO: Manager Credit Evaluation &
Portfolio Management

JOB PURPOSE:
? To ensure portfolio quality through monitoring projects under implementation and make post implementation reviews.
? To act as the eye of the institution by identifying projects under distress and initiating work out
procedures and undertake recovery of all overdue debts.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Develop and review project monitoring and recovery procedures and strategies from time to time in line with the Banks policy on lending and
collections and recoveries.
? Work closely with project Managers in ensuring that funds disbursed are utilized for the intended project purposes and report any deviations to this
nor to the manager credit.
? Carry out post implementation reviews of all projects to ensure projects are meeting the criteria and milestones set during the credit structuring/underwriting process.
? Monitor periodic compliance to loan covenants and ensure all assets mortgaged to the Bank are ensured and valued periodically.
? Plan ,budget and monitor recovery processes to ensure collection of non-performing loans.
? To update all relevant details communicated with debtors in status for future follow up and reference.
? Liaise and provide support to business development and credit analysis teams by identifying pertinent market conditions and trends that may affect the bank?s loan portfolio.
? Ensure compliance to policies and procedures during attachment and disposal of attached collateral.
? Liaise and follow up with debt collectors, court bailiffs ,auctioneers and lawyers on cases submitted.
? Prepare and submit requisite status reports on recovery initiative to departmental and management credit committees.
? Maximizing recoveries from NPLs and written off accounts and work closely with auctioneers, beliefs Debt collection Agencies and legal team to maximize recoveries.
? Achieve a low Net Bad Debt by being resourceful in using different tactics in getting recoveries and handle different/difficult situation when necessary.
? Monitor and enhance the business portfolio risk profile within agreed parameters at all times together with the Risk unit; to minimize nonperforming
assets base.
? Review and recommend enhancements, including system enhancements, to improve current work flow/processes to minimize credit risks and increase efficiency .

Qualification & Experience:
? A Honor?s degree in business or related field
? Post graduate qualifications in project planning and management, monitoring and Evaluation is desirable
? Minimum of 5 years cognate experience.
